            Duke University, USA

Changsoon Kim received the B.S. degree from Seoul National University (서울대학교) in 1998, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, in 2000 and 2005, respectively, all in electrical engineering. His doctoral work, performed in the Optoelectronic Components and Materials Group, focused on the development of room-temperature, dry techniques capable of patterning metallic electrodes and organic semiconductors, and their applications to various organic electronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic solar cells, organic triodes, and organic thin-film transistors. After the doctoral study, he joined the Multifunctional Integrated Systems Technology Group at Duke University as postdoctoral research associate, and was later promoted to research scientist, to work on (i) the system-level engineering and the optical aspects of trapped-ion quantum computation and (ii) plasmonics and nanophotonics focused on the performance enhancement of organic optoelectronic devices. By converging the expertise in device physics, nanophotonics, and nanofabrication, his research at Seoul National University, as principal investigator of the Organic Electronics and Nanophotonics Laboratory, aims to improve the energy conversion efficiency and the practicality of existing optoelectronic devices such as LEDs and solar cells, and develop innovative optoelectronic devices.
